Volunteer at Bark Avenue

animal rescue youth volunteering los angeles

Ava Leonard, age 8, is the newest volunteer at Fur Baby. She and her sister, Gracie (age 6) and her cousin, Sofia (age 3) raised $30 selling art and cookies at the Eagle Rock Music Festival and donated the money to Fur Baby! Ava’s love for animals inspired her to become a Fur Baby volunteer, and by the proud look on her face, she certainly seems to have found her place. Bravo Ava, Gracie & Sofia, Bravo!

Would you like to help and volunteer with Bark Avenue?

Bark Avenue Foundation can only survive with the support provided by volunteers and the community. We are always looking for volunteers to help with outreach, events, fostering, and animal care! There are many programs and jobs that we need assistance with.

Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Jen Baronoffjwbaronoff@gmail.com if you are interested in volunteering. Please include the volunteer positions that you are interested and the days that you’re available to help out. Thank you for considering donating your valuable time to Bark Avenue Foundation!

Dog Walkers

We are in need of dog lovers who enjoy taking our rescued pups out for a good walk. Giving the dogs a chance to get outside and to socialize with a volunteer is a great way to provide them with exercise and fresh air. We also walk the dogs every Saturday from 9am – noon, so join us and get some exercise!

Foster Program

BAF is looking for loving volunteers to offer their home to a homeless pet while they wait to be adopted. Fostering is a crucial piece of the rescue world. By fostering a pet, you are giving it attention, love, and regularly socializing him/her. These interactions are key to transitioning the animal into a forever home. As a foster parent, you would be asked to work with BAF on providing transport to/from Adoption Events where the dog/cat will be featured to potential adopters. BAF will pay for all medical, food, and supplies for the pet while they are staying at the foster home. Fostering is a huge way to make a difference in an animal’s life. The love and care that a foster parent provides is priceless.

Adoption Events

We are always in need of dog and cat handlers at adoption events. As a handler, you will attend the adoption event and inform attendees about the rescued pets that we have available for adoption. You may be asked to walk one of the featured dogs around the area to promote the dog to potential adopters as well.

Cat Socializer

We are always in need of cat lovers to come in and pet and play with our rescued felines. Regular interactions with the rescued cats can make all the difference in helping them become socialized and transition from living on the streets to living in a forever home.

Events Committee

Work with BAF staff on fundraisers and awareness/education events. BAF is currently working on two benefit events for the holiday season. We will need volunteers to assist with promotion, sponsorships, obtaining auction items, etc.
